Brian Keough is President of Keough & Associates Inc., Atlantic Canada’s independent firm of Chartered Business Valuators, based in Halifax Nova Scotia.  Brian specializes in mergers & acquisitions, corporate divestitures, corporate finance, business valuations and quantification of economic damages.  Prior to forming Keough &Associates, Brian was a partner in a national accounting firm for eleven years, the last four as National Practice Director, Business Valuations, based in Toronto.  During the nineties, he was responsible for all of his firm’s significant valuation assignments conducted in the Greater Toronto Area.  For most of his career, Brian has practiced in Halifax, creating, then building and leading his firm’s M&A, valuations and litigation support practice in Atlantic Canada.
 

In a career spanning 30 years, Brian has helped facilitate over $200 million of executed transactions involving divestiture and acquisition of private businesses.  As an expert in the field of financial and quantitative analysis, he has worked with clients (and their legal advisors) in a broad range of industries to reach resolution in over 50 complex financial disputes.  He has provided expert witness testimony at the Supreme Court level in two provinces, testified before human rights and expropriation tribunals and has been hired as an expert witness by the Government of Canada and two Provinces.
