EXAMINATIONS
Examination Application:
Students who plan to attempt the course examination must submit their completed examination application to York University by the application deadline (see Programme Calendars.) The examination application is included with course notes (see a list of exam centres in Canadian and International cities). Approximately four weeks prior to the examinations, York University will send letters providing details of the examination centres.
Deferring Examination
Students should advise York University (cicbv@yorku.ca) of their inability to write their examination(s) at least one month in advance of the examination date.
Special Accommodations:
You are responsible for informing the Institute of any special needs at the beginning of each term.
Appropriate medical documentation should be included with the request, along with the specific arrangements being requested (time, equipment etc.).
Requests will be considered to the extent that time and the availability of alternatives allow.
Requests received after deadline for examination application will not be considered.

Examination Conflicts:
If two examinations are scheduled for the same day, both must be written that day. Arrangements will be made to have one written earlier in the day.
Examination Results:
Examination Results are released approximately four to six weeks after the completion of all Examinations. The results are posted on the CICBV website (student only - password access) and written confirmations are sent to all students by York University.
Password access is provided by the CICBV to all new students upon course registration.
Examination Appeal Process:
1. Review and Appeal will be accepted ONLY in relation to a request for review of a FAILING GRADE.
2. Review and Appeal must be made in writing and sent with the appropriate fees to York University no later than November 12th for the Spring/Summer Semesters.
3. The Examination Paper or Solutions will not be made available.
4. The Review and Appeal Process will:
a) ensure that all written books submitted by the student were received for marking;
b) ensure that all questions were marked and the final tally is verified;
c) students whose appeal is not successful will receive a short written question-by-question analysis of their responses, with some detail given in relation to where marks were lost;
d) Review and Appeal will be dealt with by the Academic Coordinator or an appropriate alternative;
e) Students will be advised whether they passed or failed.
5. The $250 (plus applicable taxes) fee for a Review and Appeal can be paid either by cheque (payable to York University), or credit card. Credit card payments must be made with written approval either being faxed to 416-736-5676 or scanned and e-mailed to cicbv@yorku.ca. Credit card payment requests must be accompanied by the card holder's signature. The full fee will be refunded if a pass is awarded after the review.
